T’is
the season to be jolly fa la la la la la la la la.
It’s
the yuletide season once again and (oh!) I hear the bells ringing.
The other night, a group of kids went to our house for the traditional Christmas
Caroling. They reminded me of exactly how we were before. Forget about the
lyrics as long as we can sing our hearts out and be rewarded with a few coins. Oh,
that sound made by those coins was music to my ears.
I’m
pretty sure that in one way or another you also have your own share of funny
Christmas caroling stories. Here’s mine. Below is a list of songs/lyrics that
we misheard during our childhood days.
1.
Hark!
The Herald Angels sing
Correct lyrics:
Hark! The herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconcile
Hark! The herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconcile
2. Santa Claus is coming to town
Correct lyrics:
He’s making a list
Checking it twice
He’s gonna find out
He’s making a list
Checking it twice
He’s gonna find out
who’s naughty or nice
3. Jingle Bells
Correct
lyrics:
Jingle bells.. Jingle bells..
Jingle bells.. Jingle bells..
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh
4. Joy to the world
Correct
lyrics:
Joy to the world!
The Lord is come
Joy to the world!
The Lord is come
5. Joy to the world (again!)
Correct
lyrics:
Joy to the world!
The Lord is come
Joy to the world!
The Lord is come
Let earth receive her King
